Zhang Jian received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Minnesota in 2005 and conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Mathematics at Pennsylvania State University from 2005 to 2009.He joined the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009, and was appointed associate professor in 2010 and professor in 2015. He now leads the Computational Fluids and Microstructure Evolution Laboratory of the High Performance Computing Department.
